Heather-Jane created Synergy Global in 1996, after a successful career in the NHS (UK). She began as a nurse & led effective change as an Executive Director, CEO & Senior Policy Analyst/Strategic Planner. As the only female Director of King’s College Hospital, she led Nursing, Continuous Quality Improvement & Corporate Comms, whilst championing Systems /Process Improvement, & leading patient-centred cultural change towards Diversity/Inclusivity, Health Promotion, Governance & Risk Management. Hospitals, like most organisations are highly political & complex eco-systems that require sensitive Consulting, Facilitation & Exec. Coaching

She was awarded a Harkness Fellowship for exceptional achievement in the field of health/social care, organisational development & change leadership. Based @ the Haas Business School, UC Berkeley, USA she researched Values-based Leadership & Cultural Change, working as an OD Consultant to a range of Fortune 100 firms/ networks across the USA.

In 1999, she was honoured with Visiting Scholar status at UC Berkeley, CA & also won a Churchill Fellowship, researching into the development of Successful Virtual Teams in the UK, NZ & AUS. As a published author,Heather-Jane enjoys speaking on a variety of topics & remains a passionate campaigner/change agent for Make Poverty History.

She has also received awards for leadership & creativity/innovation from the Royal College of Nursing, the EU Institute of Health Service Managers, Mercury Communications, NatWest Bank, UK & Walt Disney World, USA.

Heather-Jane has worked in Public Health, as the Chief Executive of the National Sports Medicine Institute (NSMI) a NfP which promotes safer sport/exercise - from local participants to elite athletes. As part of this role she also managed the largest Sports Medicine Library in the EU; Governance & contributed to London’s successful Olympic bid (2012).

Whilst Heather-Jane is a generalist, for the last 25 years she’s focused on Values-based Leadership & Cultural Change – engaging & motivating teams to bring alive organisational values behaviourally. This means a more sustainable approach – co-designed with all key stakeholders - making effective use of limited energy, time, & resources. As a Chief Executive, she has a long-standing interest in Corporate Governance, Quality Improvement & Strategic Integration, ensuring all projects add value, with meaningful metrics to prove RoI, plus excellent client service.

She has Dual Citizenship (EU/AUS) & lives in Melbourne with her husband Nick. She’s a Certified HR Prof AHRI Fellow; Past AUS/NZ Board Director International Coach Federation (ICF); member of UN Women (Equality/Empowerment). She’s also a qualified Peer Mentor Coach/Professional Supervisor & a member/facilitator for the AUS Associate of Supervisors, who enjoys mentoring young Masters’ Students, helping them to become more employable. She loves nature, gardening, walking, golf, diving, skiing, music, travel & The Arts.
