Guy joined Synergy Global’s in 2020 as a Change Facilitator & Business Mentor, experienced with Leadership Development. Arriving in AUS from the UK in 1990 he lectured at the University of Technology, working in both their education & business schools until 1996.

He later completed his Masters in Adult Education & then joined Apex Training People to build the ‘tailored corporate training’ division, designing & running courses in Leadership, Sales, Customer Service & Key Account Management. In 2005 he started his own training business working in Australia, New Zealand, UK, Indonesia & the Middle East. Clients include Ausgrid, BMW, Hyundai, ING Bank, Voith Engineering, & CPB Contractors.

Guy believes that development should be highly relevant, fun & memorable while catering for the different learning styles in the room. He prides himself on being able to empathise with learners, adjust his style & connect. He has a firm understanding of his subject matter, the ability to hold a room & the confidence to ‘go with the group’ when a topic progresses in an unexpected direction, but from which the participants can get value – linked to agreed learning outcomes.

His sessions are dynamic, engaging, energetic & entertaining using a mixture of instruction, facilitation, interaction, pair & small group work. He also has experience facilitating visioning & strategic planning workshops. Using SG’s Principles of Adult Learning, Guy creates a safe learning environment that is conducive to gaining the most from the people involved. The information is often in the room, it just needs to be allowed to surface. Creating buy-in & a sense of urgency for the concepts discussed, results in realistic action plans, which if monitored, lead to long term behavioural & cultural change.

Professionally, Guy is driven by a desire to be the best Change Facilitator/Professional Development Consultant/Trainer that he can be - reading & developing his knowledge/skills in the areas he works in & observe other consultants in action. He also attends business, financial & communication seminars.

For pleasure, he read biogs of successful leaders. Maintains a healthy work/life balance, ensuring happiness, with his wife & two children. He has an active interest in wealth creation & is involved in various investments. Exercise has always played a big role in his life – in particular, hiking, swimming, cycling, squash & tennis. Guy walked the Kokoda track (2015), climbed Kilimanjaro (2016) & got to the Everest Basecamp (2017). He is also interested in the arts, playing clarinet & guitar as well as singing. An interest in musicals resulted in playing Buddy Holly in his life story.
