Janet joined Synergy Global in 2021, as Team Leader – Ontario,
building on accomplishments of over 21yrs in leadership roles, including 13yrs at Exec Level with the Canadian federal public service, of which 10yrs were with Environment & Climate Change. Change leadership complements her accounting distinctions as Fellow CPA/CMA (CAN) & CIPFA (UK). Her career is founded on consulting & audit project management. As an environmental steward, she has been at the forefront in innovative policy/ operational initiatives/ organisational change in central agencies, science-based, social & international development departments, & the social enterprise/not-for-profit sectors in Canada & globally.

As a Certified Integral Professional Coach & active member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), Janet also participates in the ICF Ottawa Executive Round Table. She is a passionate Climate change/Sustainability Activist & co-hosts the Climate Coaching Alliance (CCA) in Canada. She is also a valued mentor with CPA Canada & the Women’s Infrastructure Network.
As an example of her expertise in Health & Wellbeing (H&W), Janet & her team used integral coaching skills to develop & implement a workplace wellness initiative for young scholars (Masters & PhDs) at the Waterloo Institute for Social Innovation & Resilience. She is trained in Systems Thinking & Circle Practice that supports the initiative’s self-management.

Two examples of her expertise in sustainability:
Janet led the team that developed the Integrated Management Framework for Environmental Contaminated Sites (Federal Govt. Canada) – this won a CPA Canada Public Sector Financial Management Team Innovation Award (2015).
In 1992, Post the UN Conference on Environment & Development, she initiated the first Accounting for the Environment: The Disappearing Resource conference, at Concordia University, Quebec, that focused on the social side of accounting.

Janet lives in Ottawa & Elphin, Ontario Canada.Her care & compassion in supporting the navigation of change is held in her ability to be flexible with changing organisational circumstances, & in her passion for deep listening, meaningful conversations, & in taking on new challenges with the unknown. She brings her training & exploration of ancient wisdom & allyship to SG’s Valuing Diversity & Inclusion (VD&I) Services, along with Theory U, Circle Practice, Mental Health, Grief/Loss programming, & healing/reconciliation with indigenous peoples + climate low C02 economies.
