Alison Lally, Team Leader – Europe (based in Sheffield UK)

Alison joined Synergy Global’s West Team (SGWT) as Team Leader – Europe (based in Sheffield, UK) in 2019.

She’s an experienced executive, trained in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), & the ‘Thinking Environment’, plus Executive Coaching using tools such as Appreciative Inquiry.

While working at Ernst & Young, Alison qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). She quickly found her passion for developing people. Initially she delivered Learning & Development (L&D) & recruitment/selection alongside technical roles in areas such as Corporate Governance & Finance Business Partnering, until she decided to make people development the focus of her career.

Alison was admitted as a Fellow to the ICAEW; has qualified as a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development; & is also qualified with the British Psychological Society to use Psychometrics.

As with all SG Consultants, she takes an evidence-based approach, applying the latest in Neuroscience. She combines expertise in finance & business management with people engagement/development, to support client’s success.

Synergy Global believes strongly in the importance of ethics/integrity in business & life. To illustrate this, Alison sat for the full term permitted of six years on the ICAEW’s Ethics Advisory Committee & continues to be a member of the ICAEW Support Members Scheme Steering Group, a role she relishes.

She is used to working in complex environments (face-to-face/virtually); managing national teams & multiple locations; delivering programs across many organisations. For example, she led the design of the Finance Strand of the Civil Service Fast Stream, which at the time of writing, ranked second nationally in the Times 100 Top Graduate Employers.

Alison represented the UK Civil Service on the design of the Finance Profession Level 4 & Level 7 Apprenticeships –  dramatically increasing the diversity of both applicants & hires. She was presented with the first ever Govt Finance Profession Outstanding Contribution Award & celebrates that she was awarded an honorary membership of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy, in recognition of her impact on government finance.

She lives in South Yorkshire, England with her partner, Martin, & travels regularly across the UK.
Her hobbies include yoga, dance & science-fiction. She also has two beautiful cats.
