Geoff Callard, Team Leader – Effectiveness Consulting

Geoff joined Synergy Global in 2020 as a Change Facilitator,
in the role of Team Leader – Effectiveness Consulting helping Isabel Wu with her Digital Transformation Projects. As a change professional he brings over 20yrs of experience leading process improvement projects in both the Private & Public Sectors.

He began his career as a Teacher in Gisborne, New Zealand, & after a stint of overseas travel he found himself in Wales, managing experiential/ outdoor programs for personal, team & leadership development. Geoff then moved to London & managed a Remand Centre for delinquent youths, then – for a complete change – went into the service industry & found himself in Spain managing a restaurant on the Costa del Sol!

On his return to Melbourne, Geoff set up an experiential management development company, The Adventure People, which was subsequently acquired by Aptech Australia where he developed his skills as a consultant in both values-based change & process improvement based on Total Quality Management (TQM). Aptech in turn was acquired by IBM where Geoff worked as a Managing Consultant for 15yrs before leaving to set up the change management practice at General Motors Holden for SAP deployments in Australia, Vietnam & Egypt.

Since 2014 he has been a change consultant with organisations including Orica, RMIT, Energy Australia & the Australian Catholic University. For the last few years, he has combined his change work with developing his skills as a writer & has had articles & poems published in journals.

Most recently he has been developing a project, Poetry Matters, which is designed to apply the creative energy, emotional power, & language of poetry to the needs for innovation, creative problem-solving & being human in our work.

Geoff lives in Port Melbourne, VIC, AUS. He loves sport, plays a bit of tennis, cycles along the beach, reads a lot – mainly novels – writes a lot – mainly poetry, & is a bit obsessed with listening to & cataloguing music, from the sixties to the present day. He has grown up children who he tries to annoy whenever he can!
