Master of Information Technology (Systems & Professional Computing)

Niceymol (“Nicey”) joined Synergy Global as an Effectiveness Intern in July 2021.
She is an international student from Kerala, India, currently pursuing her Master’s in Information Technology specialising in Information Systems at Swinburne University of Technology, Victoria, Australia.

Nicey graduated with a distinction from Mahatma Gandhi University, India with a Bachelor of Computer Application. Then, she moved to Australia as she was keen on acquiring new skills & experiencing a new culture, which resulted in her choosing a career as a Business Analyst.

She believes: “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, & mistakes – which are all part of our lifelong learning”

Nicey has already settled in well & proved herself to be a ‘team player’, learning that planning & excellent communication help to underpin any project. She is keen to apply her business analysis skills, learnt at Uni, to solve real world problems.

Work Experience:
Following her graduation in 2019, Nicey moved to Melbourne & started working as a casual ‘Inbound Receiving Associate’, processing online shopping orders in the warehouse of – she’s been a valued member of their team for >1.5yrs now. During her time there & at Synergy Global, she has continued to improve her spoken & written English & her team communication skills. She has also learned how to tackle & resolve complex situations within tight deadlines.

Technical Skills:
Nicey has undertaken Masters’ Units related to data visualisation & business process management which has vastly improved her skills in the business analysis domain. She is skilled in MS Office Suite & has studied programming languages like PHP, HTML, Java, & SQL. She has also worked with business analysis tools like Tableau & Power BI as part of her curriculum. She is fluent in English & Malayalam (her native language).

The 4 key professional interests/goals she is focusing on during her SG Effectiveness Internship are:

blackEffectiveness Consulting: To experience the Australian work culture & kickstart her career in technology, while understanding the complexities of running a Professional Services SME in the field of Organisational Development.

blackChange Facilitation: To achieve deeper personal growth & further develop her inter-personal & cross-cultural skills – understanding what outcomes truly add value in the workplace to help clients to lead change more effectively.

blackExecutive Coaching: To develop her confidence in various transferable skills using the SG Competency Framework – these social, technical, project management, team & leadership skills will help her in the Business Analysis domain.

blackDigital Transformation: To learn to apply evidence-based Business Intelligence Tools into an SME & OD Programs – especially how they help SG & their client organisation’s to ‘work smarter not harder’ in this changing VUCA World.

Nicey currently lives in Hawthorn, Victoria. Her favourite hobbies are cooking & dancing, the latter for which she has contested in several competitions & won many prizes. Heather-Jane Synergy Global’s Chief Executive & Nicey’s Mentor, plus other team members wish her well & look forward to meeting her in person once we get out of our 5th lockdown!
