Paul Vardy joined Synergy Global at the start of 2014 as Team Leader – Membership Organisations & Sport. He comes from executive roles in sports and member-based clubs. Paul began to develop an early understanding of leadership as a School Captain and an Australian Youth Representative at the Barcelona Olympic Games. After completing university whilst working in successful stints at the Victorian Olympic Council, Victorian Golf Association and the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, he chose a stimulating path of private golf club management.

He progressed in Assistant Manager roles at The Eastern Golf Club and Yarra Yarra Golf Club, and Australia’s number one golf club, Royal Melbourne. In his various roles he excelled at all aspects of management; member service, finance, HR, marketing, membership, hospitality and golf programs. He has been involved in extensive event management and the hosting of eight international professional golf tournaments, working alongside organisations such as IMG and SFX Sports. He has significant project management experience with the clubhouse redevelopment planning at Yarra Yarra Golf Club and the $7m clubhouse redevelopment at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club amongst various other major projects.

He was later appointed as General Manager at The Kew Golf Club in 2008 where he was closely involved with the most significant changes in the club in 40 years, most notably the upgrading of the golf course to couch grass and new approaches, greens and bunkering. Other projects included: upgrades to water infrastructure, clubhouse and car park.
He’s very experienced in liaising with Councils, engineers, neighbours, contractors and various other authorities.

Paul works with Golf Australia in the position of Club Support Manager, under the strategy of golf’s peak body to improve club viability. This allows Paul to use his skills to assist Australia’s 1,500 golf facilities to adapt to change and thrive into the future. He has outstanding interpersonal skills and interest in people that enables him to authentically connect with all types of personalities and build effective teams. In his various roles has won the respect of club members, staff, boards, industry colleagues, consultants and contractors and he can help you too.
